Christian Education Hour

Classes Beginning September 4:

ADULTS

Foundations: Location: Room 213. Theme: Who am I? The gospels provide answers to many questions. However, one of the most poignant questions we find is “Who is Jesus?” We will spend the semester exploring the multiple “I AM” statements of Jesus from the Gospel of John. Led by: Andrew Clark, Jason Waters, Kelvin Rogers, and Chris Byrd.

Christ in Culture: Location: Tomlin Hall. Theme: Gospel Centered Worship. 'Worship is the work of acknowledging the greatness of our covenant Lord' -- John Frame. What does the Bible teach about worship? How do we adapt worship to our culture while honoring the traditions of our heritage? How can worship be edifying to believers and accessible to seekers? How do liturgy, music, and even our worship space speak the gospel to us during worship? Come join us as we explore and discuss these issues together. Led by: Keith Boland.

Christ in the Home: Location: Room 201. Theme: Sermon on the Mount. Led by: Mark Dumais.

Christ in the Word: Location: Parlor. Theme: This fall we will have studies on James, the brother of Christ, Phoebe, Priscilla, Lois, Timothy, Andrew, and Peter. Our class is open to all ages, married, single, children, men, and women. We will use God’s inspired word to teach the Gospel. Led by Ed Alexander, Ed Cerny, Rick Hall, Bob Hooper, and Tom Mason.

Ladies Class: Location: Room 202. Theme: Book of Acts. Led by: Rhonda Moody, Marion Merry, Nancy Schabacker, Ruth Adam, and Carol Kirker.

Ladies Class 2.0: Location: Room 215. Theme: Discovering how to live in an age of frustration and anxiety and applying God's truths to our daily lives using “Overcoming Fear, Worry, and Anxiety” by Elyse Fitzpatrick and “Trusting God” by Jerry Bridges. Led by: Shirley Jaramillo and Alyce Player.

Inquirers Class: Begins September 11. Location: Room 204. Theme: If you are relatively new to LPC, have been around a long time and still don't know what the church is all about, or are considering making this your home church but need some more information, join us at our next Inquirers’ Class. Attendance is for your benefit and understanding and doesn't obligate you to anything. Pastor Chuck will lead the class.
